Let the Fun Begin

Things are moving right along in our little corner of the world.  We will be starting our first big renovation project in the next two weeks, and we are very excited to see the changes.  We will be starting with the upstairs bedrooms, tearing out all of the lath and plaster, putting in insulation, and hanging drywall.  We will also be replacing the majority of the windows to make the house more efficient.  Some of the downstairs windows will not be replaced  because they will ultimately be eliminated once we do the garage and master bedroom addition.  This should be an interesting project due to the fact that when we start, we will all be living downstairs until it's complete, and that could take a couple of weeks.  The kids are excited to sleep downstairs, so we will just have to make it one big slumber party.  For two weeks.  Two.  Weeks.  Oh, boy.

On another note, I have completed all of my student teaching requirements and have submitted my application for student teaching.  I have passed (YAY!) all of my required tests and just have sit tight and wait to see where my placement will be.  I have also started doubling up on my classes, which will put me done with my program (aside from student teaching) this June!  I will be finishing up my classes just in time for our Minnesota vacation!  It very strange to think that I won't have any schoolwork to do during the summer, but I am looking forward to it!  More time for me to lay in the sun and eat bon-bons. ;)

 The Game
I have to admit that it is pretty exciting to wake up in the morning, step out on the porch, and shoot squirrels and rabbits that are prancing around the yard.  In this picture, Chad shot at a squirrel in the garden, but when we went to retrieve it, it ran into the tree hollow.  Turns out that the scope on the 22 was loose causing the aim to be off, but once that was fixed, Chad was a perfect shot.

Wednesday Morning

After taking the above picture, I told Brock that he could smile now because he was really excited.  He said that he couldn't because Dad told him he needed to be serious.  Don't know where he got that from because Dad definitely did not say that!  Haha!

As Dad said, "It's time to fry up some Max and Ruby."

Rabbit!

The kids LOVED it!

2nd Grade Music Program

Brock had a solo part in the program, and we could tell that he was pretty nervous leading up to his big debut.

He did GREAT!

Brayden comes over once every other week for a play date with Sophie.  This week, we made marshmallow brownies from scratch.  Grammie and Sophie made some brownies a few days before, and Sophie was devastated that she only got one and Mama ate the rest (oops!).  So I promised her we would make some more.  Mama stayed away from this batch (the best I could)!

Pinkalicious the Musical
The girls had such a fun time!

Ella has been begging and begging to get her hair cut.  We all love her long hair, so we have been putting it off for quite some time.  During our trip to Lincoln, I took Ella to get her hair cut.  She kept telling the beautician to go shorter, but I had to tell her that it was short enough.  Ella would have kept going!  After she got it cut, she was so excited for her new haircut and was still excited for a few days later.  It was only until yesterday that she told me she misses her long hair.  But now she is back to loving it again.  *sigh*
