Chad's vacation has officially started, and the fun has begun. During Day 1, we had a few obligations to attend to, so we were limited on the amount of time we could demo. We managed to get Sophie's room (bedroom #1) gutted and ready to insulate. Brock helped quite a bit in tearing out the plaster and lath. He also got started on our bedroom tearing out the plaster. I told him that maybe he shouldn't take out the lath because it tends to bounce back at you when you pull it out, but that just made him more determined to do it, and by golly, he did! The look on the kids' faces was priceless when we told them they could take a hammer to the walls. I just hope it doesn't become a habit to ALL of the walls. ;)
Sophie asks, "Why are you tearing out all of the walls?" My response was, "To make it warm when you sleep."
This was only after Day 1. Guess I was a little too hard on the hammers. What can I say...I like to demo. ;)
Day 2 was more productive. I started early in the morning while Chad helped cut up beef. I was welcomed by two helpers in their jammies ready to "tear down the walls." We managed to get all of the 2nd bedroom gutted and cleaned up, and when Chad got home, he was ready to start insulating Sophie's room.
Day 2
Ella's Wall
Ella's Wall
Goodbye Plaster!
Ella and Sophie took down the entire bedroom (with the exception of out-of-reach places). Such hard workers!
Bedroom #2
Introducing Mini Sledge
(where were you yesterday!)
The walls came down so much faster with mini sledge!
Insulation!
Where have you been all my life?! Or maybe just for this past winter. Brrr!
Glorious yellow puffs of warmth.
I wondered why my finger was hurting while I was taking pictures. That's what happens when you don't wear gloves.

She wants to do her supper duty (make supper). Pretty creative if you ask me.
