Frosting Monsters

Sand Painting

The Aftermath

Playing Catcher

What started out so innocent with a dollop here and a little smear there, turned into a quite interesting fiasco.

Sophie and Mason chose to stay clean. And seeing how the frosting is made of shortening, it was a very wise choice.

Grocery Forget-Me-Not

I love how the kids get so excited when I come home from the grocery store. They run into the kitchen, dig through the bags, and shriek whenever they find something they like. Sophie will grab each brightly colored item, run it to Daddy to show him what we got, and say, "I love it. It's my favorite. Thanks!" Everything I handed her tonight, whether it be diapers, beans, or spaghetti noodles, she said, "Wowww, thanks!"

Why does it take me a week to compose one post?????

What a wonderful Mother's Day indeed!

Brock's gift to me for Mother's Day. He had the choice to put sprinkles or oreos on the apple, and he chose sprinkles because he knows how much I like them. =)

Chad surprised me and the kids with a picnic at the park.

The moon for my Ella Bell.
She absolutely loves the moon, and whenever I look at it, I think of her.

Brock's field trip to Pioneer's Park.
So grateful that I was able to go with him.

Brock's "Hairy Sock Head"

Sophie kept saying, "I got a flower on my butt. Look! I got a flower on my BUTT!"

Baseball Pics
Warming Up

This boy LOVES baseball. When all of his friends are excited that there is no practice, he is devastated to tears. Luckily, there is plenty more baseball to last us through the summer!

Robin's Egg

When my sister asked if Sophie was scared of the robin's egg in the picture on the previous post, I thought it would be a good idea to share the story. We had found two robin's eggs and and a nest laying in our yard. After no birds claimed them, I put them all on our deck in a flower pot until I decided what crafty thing I wanted to do with them. The kids were outside playing while I was getting supper ready, and Ella comes running inside telling me to come look at Sophie. I went on the deck to find that Sophie had squished one of the eggs and it exploded all over her face. If you click on the picture, you are able to see eggy explosion (note the eggshells all over her hands). Ew.

Things Among Things

How can something so beautiful be so gross?

Mother's Day Cookie Madness

As most of you know, it is not uncommon for food to end up in Ella's hair, so I was not at all surprised to find frosting in it. I was impressed, however, that it was a reasonable amount in comparison to what is usually hiding in there.

Cookie for Daddy

Cookie for Mama
(It was soooo delicious!)

If only you could have only heard them. It was LOUD!

When I caught Sophie doing this:

I tightened the lid so she couldn't open it.

She eventually gave up and decided just to lick the bottle.

My crocheted rag rug!

My first attempt at rag-rugging didn't go so well:

Ready for preschool!

Sophie plucking grapes to wash. Most end up in her mouth.

The kids love looking though my cookbooks for yummy treats to make.
Another forget-me-not memory.

The last of the soccer pics

Sweet, Sweet Basil

When she is this cute, how can I pick just one picture?
Ella was making her laugh while she was in the tub.

The kids did do an Easter egg hunt this year, but I was unable to salvage the pictures from it; however, Brock's baseball team has a shutterfly page where the pics from the pancake feed can be viewed. Click HERE to see.

And lastly, Happy Mother's Day to all of you moms out there. I admire you so much because I know how hard it is to be a MOM. Being a mother is one of the most rewarding yet challenging (and chaotic and crazy and amazing and frustrating and jubilant and tearful) wonders of life.

So here's to you, Mamas, for being soooo wonderful!
