Easter
Hiller Easter Dinner

Ella made the potato salad as well as the pineapple upside down cake. This was a very special cake because it was my first cake from scratch, and it was so fun making it with Ella. Am I crazy to say that I prefer the taste of boxed cake mix better? I do. I definitely do.

Spring Programs
Brock and Ella had their spring programs over the weekend. We got both of them on video with only a few pictures. This was Ella's last program of the year, and it was Brock's first kindergarten program. Here are the pics we managed to get:
On our way to Grandma and Grandpa's
The majority of you may be thinking that this looks anything but appetizing, and if you are one of those people, you are definitely not a Hiller. Sourdough pancakes have been made in my family on special occasions since I can remember, and this picture is especially sentimental because the starter is being housed in the same crock that my mom would always make it in when I was little. I have since inherited the crock as well as the duty to supply them. =)
We are ready for a busy Easter weekend. Hope everyone has a wonderful Easter!

Brock's 6th Bday, Soccer, and Baseball!
For Brock's 6th Birthday, we took him and his friends to Chuck E. Cheese for an hour and a half of extreme awesomeness, and then it was back to our house to P.A.R.T.Y! The 5-hour party was so fun, and by the end, Brock was pooped!

Scroungin' for pinata candy

This is how Sophie opens the burbie door. She grabs hold of the handle and just hangs there until someone pulls her off (feet not touching the ground).

Brock is so proud of the work that he brings home that has stars and smiley faces on it. As you can tell by this picture he drew, it means a lot to him that he does good work. =)

No need to rub your eyes; you are seeing this correctly. Brock is washing his hotdog. Apparently he doesn't like the corndog casserole anymore.

Brock and Ella started their soccer season, and Ella is so funny when she plays. She is more concerned about waving to the crowd and dancing on the field than she is getting in the action. She did manage to score a goal in last night's game. Yay, Ella! Before the game, I told her we should practice, and she said, "Mom, I already know how to play soccer." Brock, on the other hand, knocked 'em down and plowed them over. Not really but kind of. =) He loves practicing, and I love it just as much, if not more, than he does. I told Chad that wherever we move to next, we are going to have to invest in a soccer goal. =D

Brock started baseball practice with his 8U team, and he fits right in with the big boys. I didn't get any pics yet of his practices because the girls wanted to play at the park, so I will try and get some in the next couple of weeks.

Ella's World
As Ella was watching the death scene of Flynn Rider on Tangled, I was beside myself to see that she had tears in her eyes. Do children really grasp the concept of death at the age of 4? No. Not Ella, anyway. When I consoled her in my arms while she let her tears flow, I asked her why she was sad. She said, "I don't like Rapunzel's hair like that. Mama, don't ever cut my hair like that." *sigh*

Forget-Me-Nots
My forget-me-nots are not flowers, but rather things that I don't want to forget. So here are my most recent forget-me-nots:
Sophie loves for me to sing "Tinkie Tinkles" (aka twinkle twinkle) to her every day at nap and bedtime. I always have to lay my head right beside hers, and she moves her lips to the words as I sing them, but she doesn't make a noise.
I love how Paxton calls me Mole and Carter calls me Moley. =)
It's interesting to watch Brock's need for sleep. Just like his mama, that boy can sleep anywhere, anytime!
I love watching Ella because she is a splitting image of me, and she's a nutball! She looks up to me so much, but she is such a Daddy's girl. A few times a week, Chad tells her how much she is like her mama.
I am so grateful everyday that Daddy takes such good care of me and the kids. He is always willing to lend a helping hand, and I appreciate him every day.
Going for a 7-mile walk with Chad to think that it would only take us 10-15 minutes/mile. Only to find out that it took us about 20 minutes/mile. Best walk ever, though.
When I think of the other things that I wanted to write, I will be back. =)
