As we reflect on the past few months of desolate blog silence, it seems only fitting to cap off the long hiatus with the most important update...
It's Movember.
Chad says he's about a week away from being able to twist it.
Trail cam pics are looking promising!
A little target practice for Blake:
Our 17-Year Anniversary looked a bit different this year. We had grand plans of taking the kids to Omaha for a basketball weekend and staying in a hotel, but that was quickly put to a halt when Sophie and I started to feel unwell with Covid-like symptoms. We hunkered down all weekend, rested, and awaited Monday morning to get tested.
You can't help but think "what if" when you are waiting for results which could dictate how you spend your next few days or your next couple of weeks. We played out every scenario in our heads -- if results are positive, all of us would have to quarantine, which means online school, no basketball, and Chad trying to work from home with all of us here, and me trying to make sub plans without access to materials needed. Given the choice of most of the kids, they would much rather do school from home, and given the choice, Mom and Dad would prefer that they do school at school and stay busy with their activities. We also thought that if the results are negative, we go back to school and resume all activities as normal with confidence that we are not contaminating classrooms and sports teams.
Results came back today, and they were negative! That being said, we can't wait to go back to school ("we" meaning Mom, Dad, and Sophie!).
Furthermore, being married 17 years is a BIG DEAL. We will have an Anniversary Make-up Day here in the near future. Here's a blast from the past from a calendar Chad had made for me years ago.
Speaking of basketball -- the girls officially started their season. How come Dad can always get them to smile, but for me, it's...
Ready to tear up the court!
Volleyball concluded with another successful year under their belts. This year, Ella played with her school team, and both her and Sophie played on a team in Lincoln. It was so much fun watching the girls compete. They both grew tremendously, made lots of new friends, won championships, and we couldn't be more proud!
Ella played libero:
Sack lunches for weekday game travel!
Phone chargers seem to disappear in our house. To deter the kids from taking Dad's charger, he made sure that his charger would be easily identifiable -- with duct tape.
