Snow Day 2019

When your alarm clock goes off on the morning of a snow day, you are automatically granted surplus energy and happiness as you look forward to unexpected downtime.  This holds true for me and the kids on a snow day.  These days are waaay more productive than a weekend because you feel like you've been given a little gift that lasts approximately eight hours and expires shortly after exhaustion hits at its normal time of 5:37 p.m..  Here are some things that occupied our time on our first snow day of the year:

Mom: blueberry muffins for breakfast, walls mudded, sanded, and painted, and laundry done!

Ella and Sophie: making bath bombs, cleaning up bath bomb mess, creating a fort, cleaning up fort mess, baking and decorating a two-layer "wedding cake," cleaning up cake mess, and hopes to make cookie dough and cotton candy but ran short on time.

Brock: self explanatory...

On a side note, he did have his 8th grade dance.  Him and his friends had a blast!

Hiller Christmas 2018

Hiller Christmas 2018

Dice Game
Brock got a candy cake.  He was actually excited about it, but as soon as I pointed the camera at him, I get this:

I love how the girls LOVE to read.  Ella received a Kindle for Christmas and has not put it down since.  You will most likely find her at home reading somewhere quiet and cozy.
Sophie reading to the family:

Cotton candy time!

Distinguished Elias

It turned out to be Chad's year for the bunny suit!  You look ravishing in pink, Honey!

It's not our normal if it doesn't get awkward at some point.

Sophie's Day with Dad
She got her cowgirl hat exchanged to size and was able to check out the new Scheels.  She was very excited about her hat and hasn't took it and her boots off since she got them.  Little did we know, it is a multipurpose hat.

She can shop in her hat...

She can track bears in the mountains with her hat...

And she can even play football in her hat!

Lunch Choice: Valentino's Vegas Buffet

Making Sausage

Sophie's Charcuterie Board
She got a glass for Brock and Ella, but not too long after she got it ready, she put the other two glasses back because they were being mean.  *sigh*

Lincoln Trip with Mom
The girls are avid watchers of any baking TV show.  They have been wanting to try macrons since first introduced to them a year or so ago.  We found them on our trip to Lincoln!
The verdict:  They were not what was expected.  They are a little crispy but pretty soft in the middle. The strawberry flavor was good!

Elwood Plaque that Chad made for his dad:

I'm not the only one who gets attacked by spray foam!
