Life Events of the Normal and Abnormal

House Project Current Status: Insulation

This was Sophie's first bloody nose, and she was so excited that she finally got a gusher.  So much so that she had to pose for a bloody nose photo shoot.

Happy Easter!

This is the best I could get on the way to church on Easter:

Father/Daughter Dance

What melted my heart about the Father/Daughter Dance was what led up to the actual dance.  We weren't planning on going.  We had a very busy schedule that day, and the odds were stacked against us to go.  We had planned well in advance that we were NOT going, but the girls kept talking about it and talking about it and talking about it.  You could sense the disappointment when we told them that it just wasn't going to happen.  Despite all odds and all schedules put aside, 30 minutes before the dance started,  Chad told the girls that he was able to take them.  They rushed around the house in a frenzy to find a suitable outfit and for me to do their hair.  They don't wear dresses, so we didn't have any on hand, but they didn't care.  They just wanted to go to the dance with their dad.  And so they did.  They showed up to the dance -- the only girls NOT wearing a dress, and they had a blast despite comments made to them about not wearing dresses.  They were happy to be there with their dad.
I have a poster in my classroom that says: "Be a Froot Loop in a bowl of Cheerios."
