"Mama, I GOT A SNAG!"
"Mama, my line is tangled!" -- Typically all three kids had tangled lines at the same time.
"Mama, I HAVE TO GO POTTY!" -- Because I can't leave the other kids at the dock to take one to potty.
"I WANT TO CARRY THE FISH!"
"I need a worm!"
"I can't put on my worm!"
"EW! THAT'S DISGUSTING!"
"I NEED MY SUNGLASSES!"
"MOSQUITOES ARE ATTACKING ME!"
"I WANT TO FISH WHERE BROCK IS FISHING!"
"SOPHIE CROSSED MY LINE!"
"ELLA CROSSED MY LINE!"
"HOW IN THE WORLD DO YOU HOLD THIS FISH!!" -- That one was me.
"IT'S GOING TO STAB ME!" -- That was me again.
Granted, with all of the craziness that we carry with us, there were moments that made me proud. Brock did an excellent job baiting the girls' hooks and helping them with their lines. Although we got many bites, Brock was the only one to get the fish out of the water. I was also able to turn the girls' fear of baiting their hooks into something that they can do with a little help. The kids also did a great job of listening, following directions, and making safe choices.
Broken Flip Flops
(in which she still refuses to get rid of)
While getting bait at Walmart, Brock bought the girls and me a necklace and earrings with his hard-earned money. Such a sweet thing to do!
We could not figure out for the life of us how to hold the catfish/bullhead/whatevertheheckthethingis. So we used the tools we had to successfully unhook the thingymabobber.
