The Crete Diamonds were invited to participate in a baseball tournament to help raise money for the Beaver Crossing baseball team to replace supplies lost from the recent tornado. It was an all-day baseball extravaganza. The first game, Crete played the Valpraiso 1 team and lost 2-0. It was a close game in which Crete left the bases loaded in the bottom of the last inning, and I can probably speak for all of the parents in saying that it was quite the nailbiter. Following their first lost, Crete preceded to win their next two games to face Denton in their battle for 3rd place. All teams played exceptionally well, and Crete came out with win to finish 3rd. Way to go, Diamonds!
Saturday Night Lights
The tournament finally ended at 11:30 p.m.. It was quite the night; one to definitely go down in the books!
