Keep On Keepin' On

What can I say?  So much has changed in the last few weeks.  We went from in-town livin' to country folk in what seems to be a heartbeat. We have learned so much about living in the country in such a short amount of time (septic system, how to care for your lagoon, well water, shocking the well, and propane tanks), and I can honestly say that I have taken the public water and sewer system for granted.  It is nice, however, not to have to pay for that anymore. ;)

The move has been quite the change for the kids, as well.  They began riding the bus, which is a whole new ballpark for them.  I am quite sure that they are not fond of their 45 minute bus ride before and after school, but it will make them stronger in some way, right?

Although Brock and Ella weren't quite ready to give up their summer, the kids were excited for their first day of school.  This is Ella's first year, and she still remains excited to go to school.  She loves all of her teachers and enjoys seeing her friends at school each day.  Brock started 2nd grade, and he enjoys his friends and teachers, as well, but it is apparent that the newness of school is beginning to wear off on him.

We started the school year at the "Big Blue House" with our traditional walk to school.  It was sad that this would be the last year walking the kids to school.  But as I told Chad, we will be making new memories now.  Instead of walking to school every day, we will be waiting at the end of our lane for the bus.

Sophie had to have a packed lunch just like her brother and sister.

Harper wanted in on the action, too.

Of course, we couldn't just sit and wait for the bus...

Ella Being Goofy

Ella thought Brock pulled out a snake from the grass.  Her expression is priceless.
