Fear No Crayon
When inspiration...
comes to life!
We were part of the Fall Festival Parade this weekend. This year was the 50th anniversary. It was fun to be a part of the festival, and the kids had a blast dressing up, playing games, and winning prizes. Although proud of the costumes, Chad wasn't too pumped to be a big red crayon, but he did it for me, and he is the most handsome red crayon I've ever seen!

Sunday, we tied up some loose ends around the house. Our garden is coming to an end, which means SALSA TIME! We have Michael and Lisa's wedding this weekend, but we might manage to squeeze in a few batches after that. We'll see how everything goes. Anyway, we're starting to remove plants from the garden in order to prepare for winter, and we are getting lots of new ideas for what to plant next year. I'm so excited!
Canning the last batch of tomatoes.
Grammie got these fun suckers for the kids. She also brought over a pumpkin pie for the kids to decorate. The pie is gone now, and I bet you can guess who ate it. =(

Kisses!

Grandparent's Day!
We had such a busy weekend! Thursday marked the start of the library's fall storytime program for preschoolers. I took all the kids there, and it was quite entertaining. They got to hear a couple of stories, do some arts and crafts, and have CAKE!
On Friday, Brock had Grandparent's Day at his preschool. All of the grandparents were welcome to join their grandchild at school. Brock was tickled that Grandma, Grammie, and Papa were there to see what his day entailed. They sang songs, played games, and did a few art projects. It was definitely a special day for both Brock and his Grandparents.
That night, we took the kids out to eat. It's at least once a week that Brock asks to go to 9th Street because we walk by there so often and smell the yummy goodness, and we usually only go out for supper once a month, so they thought it was a special treat.
We made a trip to Lincoln on Saturday to run some errands. We made it back just in time for lunch and then the Husker game! The kids were napping for the majority of the game, so Chad and I listened to the game while we did some work in the yard and garage.
We went out to Michael's (Chad's cousin) house on Saturday night for a bonfire/house warming party. We stayed out there for the majority of the night, and it was lots of fun! We made it home around 10:30, and the kids were pooped. They had such a fun time playing with all of the kids and kitties.
On Sunday, Brock's preschool had a picnic at the park. There they sang songs for the parents and got to run around and play while the parents visited.

Labor Day Weekend
On Friday, Brock got to practice with the Doane football team. He had a blast being around so many football players. Later that night, all of the kids that attended the Doane practice got to show off their skills during halftime of the Crete game.

We have unleashed the bunnies into the wild. We lifted up the wheelbarrow today to find them all out of their hole and scattered around inside the wheelbarrow. They were so cute that I couldn't help but pick one up and hold it. Brock got some bunny lovin' in before Daddy informed us of the diseases they carry, and then we were all quarantined into the bathroom for a scrub-down of the disease ridden bunnies.
Playing Duck Duck Goose before practice.
We stayed at Grammie and Papa's house on Saturday and Sunday while they were away in KY visiting Heidi, Jay, and Maddie. We rented the football game on PPV and had our own Husker party. The kids made footballs and had popcorn for their snack, which they thought was the greatest thing ever. Sometimes it doesn't take much to please them...just sometimes.

We did some running around on Sunday and had a nice movie night that evening. We watched The Last House on the Left, which left us both freaked out and paranoid, and then we watched State of Play. Chad really enjoyed that one, but I ended up falling asleep within the first 20 minutes. At least I made it through the first one. We headed home Monday morning and got some yard work and cleaning done. We picked another load of tomatoes, so I will have to get those bagged for salsa makin'!
