Minnesota 2023

This year's trip to Minnesota looked a little different.  Brock and I took a mother/son trip up to spend some quality time together.  When we got there, we stayed with Grammie and Papa.  It was a blast!

Randy became my best friend.

Chad and Sophie took care of the grocery shopping at home for the week.

Purple Rain always gives you good luck.

See!

Brock did not wear Purple Rain, however, he did end up out-fishing all of us the entire trip.  Let me preface this post by saying that most of the pictures from here on out are of Brock and the massive amount of fish that he caught.

Good ol' Wesston luck!

5-pound Walleye

4-pound Bass

Toward the end of the trip, Randy became Brock's best friend.

Golfing
As always, birdies for Mom. 😉

Brock let me catch two bass.  Haha!  Actually, I caught these because Brock decided to sleep in and didn't come along.

Micro Zebco -- it's perfect.

Jet Skiing!

Brock's went 60 mph, and mine went 48.  It was so much fun to race and tear up the water.  Definitely sore for days after, but totally worth it!

32" Northern (7 pounds)!

Beautiful walk on the gravel roads.  Little did I know, a thunder storm was coming.  I made it back just in time!

End of the School Year Things

Here are some items to catch up on from spring and summer!

Ella went out for tennis this year.  Look at that serve!

She also went to prom this year with one of her friends!

All of the kids were very much looking forward to starting their summer breaks.  This has been a different kind of summer in that all of the kids have jobs and aren't really around much.  It has been a bit of a transition getting used to a quiet house, but they are out there making dollar bills, y'all.

Not only did Sophie get her school permit this summer, she also got a job at Runza:

She makes the best ice cream cones!

Ella got a job as a lifeguard at the pool:

Brock got a job at the golf course, but he would not let me get a picture of him.  I do, however, have a picture of Papa measuring how tall he is.  I think he measured 6'3" in this picture.  I swear he has grown more since then!

Chad spends the majority of his time keep thing family safe from raccoons.  The butcher strikes again!

Golfing in the rain!

Makeup by Sophie:

Lake Day with the J&K Exteriors Fam!

Supper at Toast

Using his cooling blanket to manage his sunburn:

I went into the coop to find our chicken perched awkwardly as though she had just finished conducting a symphony.

They do give us pretty eggs, though.  💓
