Summer Mashup

Oh, boy. Talk about blog neglect!  This is going to be a big one!  Let's start with Brock.  He continues to work hard at golf, and his summer has been consumed with that and fishing.  He also got braces (I promised I wouldn't post a pic on here, but I do have one on my phone for safe keeping)!  We had his physical, and he has grown at least 4 inches since winter.  He is a quarter of an inch away from 6', and the doctor says he's not done growing.  When talking to his orthodontist about his likes & hobbies (hunting, fishing, and golf) and what he's been doing this summer (fishing and golfing), his orthodontist said, "Well, life can't get much better than that!"  Brock definitely agreed.

This summer was also filled with a lot of fishing!  It's always nice to be on the lake!

Our last and biggest house project -- the kitchen!  Once we started ripping out walls and tearing out cabinets and flooring, Chad came to the conclusion that it might have been better to just invest in a dishwasher, and we might not have had to go all the way with the kitchen.  I am loving the progress we are making, and we are all super excited for this project completion!

Look closely.  This is Sophie's hair art that she graciously leaves me in the shower every day.

Kitty Baby and her Babies!
Alfie stepped up as the dad and would clean and care for the kittens as if they were his own.

Doing what he loves!

He cleaned and cooked these ones up!

When things get crazy around the house, Chad always knows when step in to document our journey into insanity.

Sugar and the Food Bag
Whenever we purchase a new bag of food for Sugar, she feels that it's her due diligence to care for the bag until it gets emptied into her food container.  I wanted to see what she would do if I put the bag in random places throughout the day.  This series of photos does not disappoint.  Haha!

She was starting to look sad, so I finally emptied her food into her storage bin.

Blake and Brock

It never fails, the kids always try and make their rides more dangerous.  They would do anything for excitement!

At this point, Brock lost his socks -- his nice socks!  Wait...who goes tubing with socks???
His argument was to prevent chafing on the tops of his feet.  *sigh*

Blake and Sophie

"What are those black things floating in the water???"

"It's Brock's SOCKS!"

They were constantly giving us a thumbs up to go faster.

Behind the scenes -- in charge of holding the flag and helping kids in and out!

Biking around the lake:
We found this cute little library where we took a break and read for a bit.  Sophie just wanted to use this as a photo opportunity, so unbeknownst to her, she is fake reading a murder story.

The Airbnb we stayed at had a limited selection of bicycles.  Who knew that  a child carrier could be be multi-purpose?

Ice cream date with the hubby!  Chad got an unfortunate cone.

So he had to go back a couple of days later for a redemption cone.

Turkey Time!
Ella was able to call in these turkeys using a turkey video...

Kitty Baby did not know what was going on.

Alfie was even more confused.  But, then again, when is Alfie not confused?

Horseback Riding

Sophie and I didn't get any pictures of us biking, but we had a blast on the dangerous trails.  I would compare it to a black diamond ski slope.  There were times we laughed.  There were times we cried.  There were also times we fell into poison ivy.  We survived, but barely.

Rotz vs Ritz
Could they tell the difference between Little Bites and Mini Muffins?!?!
Yes, they could.🤦

Double Physical Day!

This was the girls' first time getting a professional highlight.  They loved it!

Soph didn't like this picture.  She wanted it more...creepy.

Ahh, that's better.
