Summer Tidings

With all of the travel and family/house adventures this summer, it was more difficult than ever to keep the blog updated.  As I sit here on my last post that I have been procrastinating working on for a while now, I think back to what a magnificent summer it has been.

I've definitely enjoyed my sunrise summer walks.  On this particular morning, it began to rain a mile into my walk.  There was no turning back, so I enjoyed the cool downpour.

As Harper and I were headed home, she jumped in the bushes and was greeted by a skunk's spray right in her face.  She immediately started sneezing and tried to rub her face on the ground.

We tried to wash her the best we could, but we are convinced that she will forever smell of skunk.

This guy and his mustard!😂

The kids love to get blizzards from DQ, and rather than going out every night for ice cream, we brought the blizzards to our house.

The "Angry Bull" Experience

Tiling the shower seemed to take forever, but it was a lot more enjoyable when Ella was helping me.  We could've done without the mortar burns.

What the media portrays tiling to be:

How I tile:

Don't judge.

As far as the house projects go, we are finally on the downhill slide of things.  We have an enormous amount of gratitude toward those who have helped us in this project.  I love the fact that when I walk into a room, I am continually reminded of who helped, so it's a constant reminder of those we love every time we look at the house.

Our last destination was to Big Lake, Missouri.  We had a great time camping with the Znamenaceks.  It's definitely a tradition to continue!

Relaxation

Queue the circus music...
-Girls playing chicken
-Brock kayaking in the shallow avoiding running into his sisters
-Blake chasing Brock

The lake was filled with flying carp.  Ella got hit in the back of the head while swimming in the shallow, the boys almost got smacked as they were tubing, and this guy jumped into the boat when the boys were fishing.

When you forget your swimsuit top at home, it's always a blessing to be able to rely on your daughter to wear her sports bra as a swim top.  Well, in this case, it might be a curse. 😕

I was able to hide my phone like an FBI tracking device to catch him smiling.
