Whirlwind of 2018

2018 came in like a lion for us this year.  Between birthdays, holidays, kids' sporting events, the house project, and the daily ins and outs of life, time is going so, so fast!  There are random times that I will look at one of the kids and flash back to when they were small and I was home with them.  Those moments are so near and dear to us that it's easy to get caught up in missing those moments.  All the while, more moments are happening every second.  The goal for this year is to slow down and make memories rather than getting through something to get to the next thing.  Keep calm and enjoy the moment.

The girls surprised me with a "VIP Shower."  I love how they knew to get out my oil and honey scrub as well as a plethora of lotions.  They even laid out a "red carpet" towel on the floor for me to stand on.  <3

 Valentine's Day 2018
Each year, the kids look forward to going iceskating on Valentine's Day.  This year was no exception. Due to parent/teacher conferences and kids being sick, we had to delay our outing by a few days, but we still made it happen.
Such a fun day with my loves!

Brock spent most of his time like this:

Basketball season is coming to a close for this year, and as with other years, it has been so much fun watching the kids grow and develop into competitive athletes.  It has been quite interesting to travel around to my old schools in Lincoln where the kids are playing.  Last year, the girls played at Culler, and this year, Brock had games at Northeast.  It's so fun to see how the schools have changed since I've last been there.
Great season, girls!

Hallways of Northeast
What hasn't changed from year to year is the fact that Sophie really doesn't like attending the games. She has a hard time sitting still for the games and usually flops around all over the floor or she is rolling all over me.

The house project is coming right along.  It has been challenging with the weather to progress at a consistent pace, but little by little, it's getting there!

It's not near completion yet, but even this is game changer:

Plumbers are coming next week to rough-in the laundry hook-ups and upstairs bathroom.

Grey's Girls!
This was such a fun night with the girls!  We went to the last movie in the 50 Shades series, which like the other movies, didn't even compare to the books. What are we going to do next year?!?

Parent/teacher conferences also came to a close and were a big success!  I look forward to continuing our newly founded tradition at Jess's.  These third grade teachers are the best and are a good portion of why I love my job so much!

I decided to try Invisalign.  Chad thinks my teeth are fine, but they have always been something that I wish I would have gotten corrected when I was in junior high, but I was too self-conscious to get braces at the time.  T-minus five months before my teeth are straight.  Aside from the slurred speech and random drooling, I think it's going to work just fine.
