The Final Fixer Upper

My kids and I love to watch the show Fixer Upper, so rather than this being about Chip and Jo, it's about Chad and Mo without the fancy reveal at the end.  :)

We are calling this property The House of Many Doors (Ella's idea).  This property was built in 1920 and was the former farmstead of Chad's late great aunt and uncle.  Many memories of this property circulate his mom's side of the family, so hopefully we do it justice with the impending changes.  This is our 4th house/fixer upper, and we are very joyed that it will be our last (we realize that we are now old and tired).

After four years of collecting measurements and sitting at our dining room table designing and drafting numerous sets of plans/layouts, the time has come to break ground and get started!  They say we've only got nine months to get this puppy completed.  Ready.  Set.  Go!

On a side note, we found where the mice have been coming in.  We have since taken the sign down, so hopefully we see a decrease in the amount of rodent traffic.  #farmhouselife

Let's Hear It for New York

If I've ever envisioned one of our children to be a New Yorker, it would definitely be Ella. She's got a love for fashion, the arts, and design, as well as tastebuds for extremely creative flavors. She fits right in to this busy concrete jungle.

Plumber Initiation

We've tackled plumbing before, but never like this. Suffice it to say, my plumbing initiation is complete.

The sludge obviously won this battle.
