First Week of School

We survived the first week of school!  The kids and I started back on Monday, and by the day's end on Wednesday, everyone was in tears from exhaustion. I am confident that the weeks to come will be better as we adjust to our school routines again.

Being that Soph is in third grade this year, I have the wonderful opportunity to have her for math and science.  She is so excited for math and asks to do it all of the time.

Before the kiddos woke for the morning, I had some work to do myself:

I'm about half way done.  It can wait for Sunday. 😊

School Supply Shopping

Yet again, another year lends itself to the dreaded school supply shopping day. I don't procrastinate often, but when I do, it's for school supplies.  Here is my attempt at consolidating the kids' supply lists to make for a more enjoyable shopping experience.

This sort of thing requires two cups of coffe -- a cold cup and a hot cup.

Lone Star

Lone Star, where are you out tonight (in Norah Jones voice because I carry the tune of an injured raccoon).

This is our last camping adventure before school starts. I have now come to the realization that I have an uncanny desire to camp with the basics (self survival camping). Sort of survivor style camping. Maybe that can be our goal for next year. There's just something about being so close to nature that you feel apart of it. Of course, we will still need bikes, air mattresses, and lighter fluid.

 Time for some motorcycles!

Pretty intimidating, I know.

The evenings were nice and brisk (nice and brisk to most -- bone chilling cold with an extreme likelihood of a blizzard front moving in to me)
