Ella Bell is 3!

We went to Chuck E Cheese last night for Ella's bday.  Since it was Tuesday, there was hardly anyone there, and it was wonderful!  She LOVES all of her presents and has been playing with them non-stop!  Thanks to everyone for sharing her special day!

This was her favorite game.

Happy Birthday to you...

Nothing goes better with cake than the aroma of burnt hair.
Got a little too close there!

FINALLY!

The bike has a baby carrier on the back.  So cute!

Ella did the same things at this age.
Only now, it's Sophie in strange places.
She managed to open it and hop in all by herself.

Sophie helping herself to some cereal.
She got it out of the pantry, opened it, and was just munchin' away.

Gingerbread Debacle

How coincidental is it that I look in my cabinets and have everything to make for a gingerbread house?  Granted all of the ingredients aren't necessarily edible, it turned out marvelously!

Ella and I made the gingerbread this morning while Brock was at preschool so that it had time to cool before putting it together.  We also made up a batch of sugar cookie dough to make cookies (tomorrow) for Brock's Christmas party on Friday at school.  The kitchen was a NIGHTMARE this morning!  Not to mention that I let Ella pretty much make all of the cookie dough herself, so there is flour in places that I will probably never be able to get to.  We won't tell Daddy that there's a whole bunch of flour in his shoe. =)

Anywho, as we finished up our gingerbread house, the excitement grew and grew.  That is until Mama tried to transfer the house to a plate that wasn't flat.  All of the sudden, the kids' faces grew looks of terror as they watched their masterpiece collapse and the majority of the candies fall off.  Luckily, I had just enough cement frosting to piece it back together.  I managed to prop it up on a cooling rack, and that is where it will stay until it finds its new home after Christmas.

We used the candy that we had leftover from Halloween to decorate the house. I am glad to say that we used it all, and I can now have my cupboard back.

What do you do when you find your child wrapped up in a necklace?

Push him over and watch him squirm?

Just kidding!  He was trying to get up and fell over.

This is what happens when I ask the kids to take off their bedsheets.
Brock says, "Lets take our sheets and all of the blankets and stuffed
animals in the house and make a ginormous pile to jump in!"

Snow Cones on a Snowy Day?

It seems like there are a million things to do in December.  We got the majority of our Christmas shopping done, and the kids found a few of the unwrapped gifts in the closet.  They were pretty excited, so we know that they will like what they got.  =)

We just got done with Sophie's bday, and now it's time for Ella's.  I'm in the process of planning what cake to make, and I think I am going to try fondant.  I've heard it doesn't taste the best, so I am going to use it sparingly.  This time, I am going to make the cakes up ahead of time and freeze them so I don't have to worry about doing it all the same day.

I would have to say that December is our busiest (and most fun) month!  Here are some pics of what wrapped up throughout the week:
They wanted to do a pic with their eyes closed.
Snowmen

Excited to scoop off the deck.
I wonder how long that will last.

Not even a basket of toys will stand in the way.

Blake Daniel

Amanda and Bret had their baby, Blake Daniel, on Friday, December 4th. He was a healthy 8lbs 8oz, and Mom and baby are doing good! Congrats to you! We love you!
And Sophie has been talking up a storm; she now says hot and buck! I think she will be a jibber jabber just like Sissy!

Miss Sophie is 1!

We celebrated Sophie's first bday on Saturday with a small gathering at our house.  After consuming the majority of her pink frosting off of her cake, she loaded her diapers full of pink surprises!

On her actual bday (3rd), I took her for her 1-year check-up, and she got 5 shots and her finger pricked. =(

Height: 29 3/4" (75%)
Weight: 20 lbs 3 oz (25-50%)
Head: 17 3/4 (75%)

We have switched her over to whole milk, and she is no longer using a bottle.  The first day was hard on her, but she seemed to adjust just fine.
Brock and Ella singing Happy Birthday to Sophie.
She is clapping.

Daddy brought home a doughnut for the bday girl.

Her first word, besides Mama and Dada, is puppy!  It sounds more like pup, but we know what she's talking about.  And any time you make animal noises, she starts laughing.  She also laughs every time we put her hat on because it's lined with fuzzies, and then she screams because she hates stuff on her head.

Brock's preschool had a Christmas program on Sunday, and it was the cutest ever!  We were manning 2 kids with 2 cameras, so we only managed to get one pic and the rest on video.  He did such a good job reciting his lines and singing.

Daddy took the kids to see Santa.  Ella's expression says it all.
