How coincidental is it that I look in my cabinets and have everything to make for a gingerbread house? Granted all of the ingredients aren't necessarily edible, it turned out marvelously!
Ella and I made the gingerbread this morning while Brock was at preschool so that it had time to cool before putting it together. We also made up a batch of sugar cookie dough to make cookies (tomorrow) for Brock's Christmas party on Friday at school. The kitchen was a NIGHTMARE this morning! Not to mention that I let Ella pretty much make all of the cookie dough herself, so there is flour in places that I will probably never be able to get to. We won't tell Daddy that there's a whole bunch of flour in his shoe. =)
Anywho, as we finished up our gingerbread house, the excitement grew and grew. That is until Mama tried to transfer the house to a plate that wasn't flat. All of the sudden, the kids' faces grew looks of terror as they watched their masterpiece collapse and the majority of the candies fall off. Luckily, I had just enough cement frosting to piece it back together. I managed to prop it up on a cooling rack, and that is where it will stay until it finds its new home after Christmas.
We used the candy that we had leftover from Halloween to decorate the house. I am glad to say that we used it all, and I can now have my cupboard back.
What do you do when you find your child wrapped up in a necklace?
Push him over and watch him squirm?
Just kidding! He was trying to get up and fell over.
This is what happens when I ask the kids to take off their bedsheets.
Brock says, "Lets take our sheets and all of the blankets and stuffed
animals in the house and make a ginormous pile to jump in!"
