Carrots, Zoo, and the Morning Monster

A few weeks back, we started Sophie on rice cereal. As with all of the other kids, she had stool problems, so we quickly nixed that from her diet. This week we started carrots, and so far so good. I had gobs of pictures of her first food; however, those were quickly erased when the memory card in our camera went out. We will try and reenact her first baby food experience tomorrow and get those pictures back. =)

The kids have been talking about kitties for a while now. It just so happened that our neighbors across the street had kittens, and of those kittens was a rag doll Siamese. The kids became quickly attached and so did I. We are testing the waters to see how well she fits into our family.

We went to the zoo today with Amanda and Carter. It was neat to see the changes they made since the last time we were there. We came across some animals that looked like they were overly ready for a vacation, like the majority of us are.

Another Baby is on the Way!

We've known for quite some time now, but wanted to wait until after the first trimester to announce it on the blog...Chad's sister, Amanda, and her husband, Bret, are expecting their second child at the end of November! We are so excited to have another niece/nephew in the family, and we can't wait to find out if it will be a boy or girl!

Also, some more exciting news is that my bestest friend, Lindsey, is graduating from Doane this weekend! She has worked so hard to get to this point, and we are so proud of her. Congrats, Lindsey! We love you!

Chad is in the stages of building the deck, and I am painting, painting, painting, painting. I had to take a painting hiatus for a week while I was sick with the pig/bird/dog flu (whatever it was that I was struck with), but since it's gone, my break is over! It's fun to see the house stuff coming together after all of the blood, sweat, and tears.

We've been really bad about taking pictures lately, so I will try and round some up to post. =)
